The Geospatial Revolution (Minnesota)
My keynote address at the Minnesota GIS/LIS conference, on "The Geospatial Revolution". A lot of common content with the talk of the same title I did at the AGI GeoCommunity conference in the UK, with some extra material (50 minutes versus 30 minutes). This was to more of a "traditional GIS" audience. The slides are online at bit.ly/19Q6Ma.
A summary of the content is as follows. Once the video has buffered, you can skip to these sections by clicking the numbers.
0:10 Introduction
0:42 Moving to the mainstream
25:39 A real-time, multimedia view of the world
39:16 Crowdsourcing
51:26 Summary
This also uses a different video approach from other presentations I've done. Previously I've generally used the webcam on my laptop to record video - for this one I used my Lumix GH1 video camera to record me speaking, and I edited in the slides afterwards using Screenflow.
