UPDATED December 23, 2013. How to install the Canon EOS Utility software on a Mac without the original CD. Canon only allows download of the updater for their EOS Utility software, not the original installer. This video tutorial demonstrates how to modify the downloadable updater to run like the original installation disc. This is helpful if you have lost your original disc, or need to install the software on a computer that does not have an optical disc drive, such as a MacBook Air. This uses the updater version EU2.13.40X_updater which can be found on Canon's website here: usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_5d_mark_iii#DriversAndSoftware
This updated version of the video shows how to change Mac system preferences to solve the problem '"EU2.13.40X_updater" is damaged and can't be opened.' This should work on OSX Mavericks as well as Mountain Lion, Lion, and Snow Leopard.
