A few months ago, I had the privilege of being invited by the University of Panama to teach a basic production seminar/course at the School of Communication. The class was very diverse, with mostly freshmen from different majors such as Journalism, Film & TV Production, and Public Relations.
The objective was to provide the group of students with the theoretical knowledge to review and critique different types of visual storytelling work, and to give them the basic technical and practical tools to produce their own student projects in their respective majors and degrees.
Although the seminar was mainly theory based, students had opportunity to gain some technical knowledge and hands-on time with video equipment. As part of the program, students shot a short fiction piece written, performed, and made by themselves.
Here's the piece, which they shot in half a day at the University of Panama. We hope you enjoy it.
