This mini-doc explores the Westboro Baptist Church's visit to Vermont to protest gays, Jews, Catholics, and pretty much anyone that's not them. Through a diverse set of interviewees, a unique contrast of experienced and youthful perspectives are offered on First Amendment privileges, social activism, and the "correct" response to this vehement* hate speech.

Wow, Graham. You've really done a great job with this. The footage looks great and you cut it very well. It's tough to get someone to watch a whole 11 minutes online, especially a doc, but you kept me watching. Great story!

wow ryan thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it! I got a chance to see your intro video for the Dallas fest -- simply awesome. The levels of production put into that piece still to this day amaze me. What's next for you?

Thanks! It was a ton of fun to make. I'm not sure what's next. I gotta brainstorm some shorts.

    Fantastic!!! Both story and presentation!

Thanks Kevin, I'm glad you liked it! The WBBC's hate speech makes for such a compelling story, and I found that combining it with the personal tales of people like Jason Lorber really makes for a persuasive film on the matter.

Feel free to check out some of my other work too!

For some reason, the comment I added yesterday isn't showing up here (although it's in my Profile... hmmm...)

    Anyway, here's what I said:

Very nicely shot -- high production value and well-thought out/interesting framings. Good editing. Very fine work.

What did you shoot it with? And did you treat it with anything in post?
  • Graham Raubvogel 16 days ago
Something must have gotten messed, considering it tagged yesterday's post from you on "Let Me Out"...

I shot this with the JVCHM100 (courtesy of VCAM). I used Apple Color to treat the film in post.

Thanks for the such great comments! :)
