BT has decided to go head to head with Sky for sports viewing audiences and since the start of 2013 both companies have embarked on major advertising campaigns to grow their piece of the lucrative subscription market. MRMOCO was brought on board by both Stink (BT Sport) and Rattling Stick productions (Sky Sports) providing motion control for both sides of the sports viewing audience battle.

BT sport went with a large cast of international sports stars including Robin Van-Persie and Gareth Bale. Our latest development for high speed shooting, the Bolt high speed Cinebot was used with a Phantom Flex shooting at 1,000 frames per second to capture Saracens Ernst Joubert and Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini in mid-flight. The Talos was also used in another scene of this commercial tracking alongside lighting fast England centre Magli Tagulia.

Sky on the other hand backed the seemingly everlasting appeal of David Beckham to be enough to keep hold of their number one spot. However they must have felt one David Beckham just wasn’t enough. Using our Modula rig with the Alexa repeat passes were shot to show the many faces of David Beckham over one day watching Sky Sports on several different viewing devices.
