I recently had the opportunity to briefly test the new (Version 2) Sony PL Mount primes. I only had 1 hour with the set. The set consists of 20mm, 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm & 135mm all T2. The build quality is definitely worlds apart from the Version 1 set and feel more professional. Lot's of focus witness marks. They are heavy lenses though. The Image Quality is superb and I found that by adding a 1/8BPM or even a 1/4BPM I got fairly close to the creamy Cooke look. I wouldn't hesitate to use these lenses in a professional paying situation. I will try to do a more in-depth test in the near future. Thanks to Fusion Cine Vancouver for providing the lenses for this test.
