"humanoid/metamorph" is a choreographic research inspired by the art work (paintings, drawings, sculptures) and writings (diaries, letters and subject matter) of Oskar Schlemmer (1888-1943) who has studied, worked and lived in Stuttgart before joining the world famous Bauhaus group in Weimar and Dessau.
In "humanoid/metamorph" the human body is examined by its gesture, locomotion and transformation into an inhuman figure related to the space around.
In "humanoid" the figure reacts and interacts with the public that passes by or watches the scenery at the Schloßplatz.
In "metamorph" the transformed creature meanders through the gallery space creating its own world, shape- shifting between the human, animal, object and mechanical being.
This is a glimpse into the rehearsal process in the studio.
