    This film is shot through with a rare love and passion for the subject, Jane Austen, as well as a profound honesty and humanity. At the end of it, you kind of want to give Cornel West a big hug! Beautiful, simple, meaningful filmmaking.

    Yes! I had the same feeling. I never thought I would want to hug a philosopher. He makes the whole field seem better, warmer, more humane.

    I have a hard time imagining Jane Austen enjoying dinner with Freud or Jung. Emily Dickinson, yes. How about Nora Ephron and Wendy Wasserstein. How about Elizabeth Vigee Le Brun and Rosa Bonheur?
