This workshop explores the structure inherent in successful screenplays.
Mary Anne Butler is a Darwin-based playwright who won the 2012 Birch, Carroll and Coyle NT Literary Award for screenwriting with her feature ‘Hopetown’ and the 2010 Darwin Festival Playscript Award for her stage play ‘Dragons’. She received a 2011 Australia Council Literature Board grant, a 2012 Theatre Board grant and a 2010 Bundanon residency for playwriting. Mary Anne’s play ‘Highway of Lost Hearts’ premiered at the 2012 Darwin Festival to a sold out season. Mary Anne holds a Masters in Philosophy [Creative Writing], a Masters in Arts Education and is developing her next two plays, ‘The Sound of Waiting’, and ‘Broken’ [working title].
