We travelled nearly 1,200km before we finally reached our destination, Barcelona. :)
We visited Sagrada Família, the international symbol of Barcelona. We were totally in awe of the sheer brilliance of the architecture. Though incomplete, we were glad to witness the construction before the anticipated completion date of 2026—the centennial of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí's death.
As huge football fans, we booked tickets to the Champions League clash between FC Barcelona and AC Milan. We boarded a train to the stadium packed with Barcelona supporters. After reaching the station, we had to walk a further 15 minutes and the atmosphere reached a feverish point where the passionate supporters looked like they were marching onto a battlefield. :P
Listening to the Barcelona anthem gave us goosebumps in a positive way. It truly explains why football is more than just a sport. It brings friends or even strangers together, all committing to the same cause, which is to support their team which they grew up watching. We were so lucky to have witness it. Forza Barcelona!
