A tongue-in-cheek "animated" short I made as a student for a class called "Cinema and New Media." The idea was to apply author Lev Manovich's principles of new media onto something that can't be neatly quantified and organized into a database - the diverse spectrum of human sexuality - and take it to the extreme. The science fiction narrative, influenced by Jorge Luis Borges and delivered in a campy voice-over, describes a perpetual and ever-growing human catalogue of sexual possibilities that eventually eradicates all language and culture. The film was also inspired by the recent introduction of Google Earth in 2005. Like my film DIALOG, The Ideal Sex Act was "drawn" using a primitive 1997 version of MS Paint.
