This month's episode of "The Public Square" discusses the proposed expansion of the Massachusetts Bottle Law (a.k.a., the “Bottle Bill”). When the mandatory deposits on many bottles was enacted years ago, it seemed like the right way to promote recycling, but is that still the case as the proponents seek to expand the bill to include bottled water, energy drinks, teas and juices?

We hear from people on the street as well as Janet Domenitz, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Public Interest Research Group (MassPirg) and State Senator Ken Donnelly. The show is an opportunity to learn about why some people support the proposal and why others oppose it.
