Did you come from youtube with a comment like that?
  • matthew carrozo 4 months ago
ouch, annie, that hurt. "the shit" is different from "shit" (polar opposite), if thats what you meant... if not, i apologise for now mentioning a four-letter-word thrice.
  • matthew carrozo 4 months ago
and yeah, i've moved over from youtube for the same reasons you so wonderfully state in your profile ;)

that's quite cool. can you talk a little bit about how you shot this? it looks like a series of stills. did you mount a tripod on the passenger seat or simply attach the camera to the headrest of the seat?

Nice job Martin Wilson. I really would like to know how to do stop motion like that. I love it when I can see the light streaks going by while your hands are still on the wheel. Well nice job on this experiment.

Wow! Thanks for all the comments. :-) Put a mighty big grin on my face.

This was done with a Canon 5D, mounted on a tripod on the passenger seat/passenger footwell. I had a cable release mounted on the dash just next to the steering wheel, just opened the shutter every few seconds (or inbetween trying to not crash!)

The video is made up of two trips, one of about 30 minutes, one of about an hour. There are some duplicate frames from each trip throughout the video.

Thanks again, and any more questions just ask.

Nice! Did you use a fixed exposure setting? The exposure on the interior is consistent throughout - which is impressive considering the various lighting conditions.
  • Martin Wilson 2 months ago
Sorry for delayed reply, your question slipped by. You probably aren't as interested now, but yes, fixed exposure, then fiddled in PS for each individual frame. Cheers.
