Union rove 80 yards in 14 plays on the opening drive and RB Nathaniel Penaranda scored from 12 yards out to give Union an early 7-0 lead. Then it was all Camas… or so it seamed.

Following that Union Score, Camas added a Tyler Fisher TD run, 2 Logan Grindy to Addison Owen TD passes, and a Stuart Jergensen FG to go up 24-7.

The FG was followed by a Mitch Saylor 99 yard kick off return for a TD, the only Union life the Titans would have in nearly 3 quarters of football.

Camas took the second half kick off and drove 67 yards in 11 plays as they went up 31-14 on a Logan Grindy to Jeremy Faulkner TD pass.

Union QB Brandon Weller was intercepted by Camas OLB Brock Beall, who ran the ball back to the Titans 12. Camas looked like they would put the final nail in the coffin and wrap this game up late in the 3rd quarter. Grindy however was picked off by DB Matt Merlino at the 3 keeping the score at 31-14.

Union then scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, as RB Blake Russell scored 2 rushing TD’s and following an onside kick recovered by T.J. Boatright, Brandon Weller hit Penaranda on a swing pass from 13 yards for the game winning TD.

With the win, Union improves to 8-1 and 5-0 in league. The Titans finish as the 3A GSHL league champions and will host Olympic (6-3) Friday/Saturday in the preliminary round of the state playoffs.

Camas falls to 7-2 and 4-1 in league with the loss. The Papermakers will host #4 Liberty (8-1) Friday/Saturday in the preliminary round of the state playoffs.
