Festivals And Awards 2009 International Mountain Film Festival in Cankarjev dom: the documentary won two awards (Best Climbing Movie, Audience Award).

The film is a story of one of the best climbers in the world Natalija Gros, who struggles to climb one of the most challenging verticals in Slovenia: Histerija (8c+) in Mišja peč. The camera follows Natalija’s story during her conquering the Histerija and during the climbing season (trainings, competitions, injuries, testings).

Natalija is the first woman in Slovenija to climb such a difficult wall (8c+). So far, only a few female climbers in the world have succeeded in acquiring such a result.

“The documentary is a depiction of my climbing, my career and trainings, it concentrates on my climbing the Histerija and the ups and downs during the season; it is about my impulses, temptations, hidden wishes and everything that has kept me in the world of climbing till today.” Natalija Gros

I'm in love (or something almost like it).
Serioiusly though, I really like the camera work in this. I assume the person with the camera was swinging on a rope to give that constantly changing angle. Nice 3D effect.

The most emotional climbing movie I have ever seen! Very nice work with the camera. I almost feel like I'm there and watching her myself. Also great choice of music. It goes so well with her flowing climbing style.
Congratulations to the whole film crew and of course to Natalija.

It is the music to make this average video likable, not the camera or the woman.
God, people are dumb as dirt.
You want real climbing? There you go.

Dan Osman isn't around anymore. His speed climb is rated at 5b French or 5.7 American. This climb that Natalija is doing is rated at 8c+ French or 5.14c American.

For those who don't know climbing, that's almost unimaginably harder.

Know of what you speak, grasshoppers.

While Dan Osman. may he rest in peace, had his good climbs and was certainly talented, he was a reckless adrenaline junky with a death wish and he finally got what he wanted after pushing the envelope time and again. I feel more for his wife and daughter who I am sure miss him terribly. While I give him credit for his skill, I give far more credit to those who do equal and even harder climbs with grace, skill, and safety. Such as the talented woman in this video.

Absolutely beautiful. Filming, climbing. The last clip she does before the anchor is mind blowing. And the back and forth camera angles are nothing short of breathtaking. Thank you. Inspired on so many levels.
