Poverty poem by Fred Taban, recorded last week in South Sudan.
Fred is a theology professor at the Episcopal Church Sudan Seminary in Kajo Keji county Sudan. He has been a refugee for most of his life. When Fred speaks of poverty he knows what he is talking about. I will share more of Fred's extraordinary story here next month.

Recorded on a canon 7d with sound on a zoom h4n recorder through Sennheiser wireless mic.

Poverty consciousness in the United States is unfortunate... I can't imagine living in a world where the external reality of poverty is just as powerful as the internal world of poverty and choice is not a viable option..
I grew up with poverty consciousness and all I can say is that is IS NOT FUN. Thankfully in this country, all you have to do is CHOOSE to change your circumstances and the opportunity will be available the second you are ready.
I feel deeply for those who are less fortunate. I eagerly await the day that I can create change on a much larger scale..

Very nice little piece, thank you.

    Love and Aloha, iamKP-
