This is the debut trailer I helped create for Proletariat's first major release, World Zombination. The trailer was made in 3 1/2 weeks, with 2 artists full time (myself included), and 2 artists part time. I'm responsible for all the animation, rigging, and compositing for the trailer (basically, if it moves, I made it do that).
All rendering for the trailer was straight from Unity. This saved us invaluable time with rendering, experimentation, and post process effects. I was able to make quick animation and camera tweaks, and our art director could experiment with lighting and see final product representation almost immediately. It was important that we got as close to the final product as possible since our time for post process compositing was very condensed.
All three main characters in the video are actually the same rig. I was able to create a rig in Maya where all the bones can be translated to any position, and each new position saved with a driven key for each character. Luckily I had already created this rig for the game, and our characters were high enough fidelity to utilize it for the trailer. Animations can be shared between characters, but obviously there was no need for that in the case of the trailer.
