Somewhere in the distant future. A world under attack. A lone woman gazes into the abyss.

Shot with the Canon 5d mark II and some shots done with the Sony HC1.

We are in the middle of writing our apocalyptic script and this was mainly a test film to see how far we could push our effects and production. We weren't even supposed to shoot this much, just mainly location scouting. But after we found a great area that reminded us slightly of the world from Fallout we also decided to film something.

Editing was consciously kept at a slow pace because it was new to us and I like to keep myself challenged. It's almost poem-like.

The bad guys here are slightly off, they come off as barbarians which was not planned. And I definitely don't like the way they run :9 . But we'll continue to plan our next bigger thing and learn from this experience!

ok.... so for a low budget quick short I really liked it! I loved the grading done to the footage and I liked the feeling of desolation and the fact that the moon is so huge in the sky is awesome! One thing though that I would recommend working on next time is the girl actress... her eyes just did not convince me of the story nor her character. I know that it is hard to do and that I am no pro, but i've heard an interview from a DP that works with actors who said 90% of acting is in the eyes. Good luck with the project and I look forward to seeing the final product!

Mikko pretty amazing job with the Canon D5 Mark II. And the detail on the girl is amazing. People don't realize that you guys were just out shooting locations. And decided to roll...

Where can I get one of those plasma light stands? :p

Definitely not bad... the fire effects are a little too "big" to be realistic. If you don't like the way the "thugs" run, then don't show them! Definitely should cut the closeups of the thug. You can do a lot with what you don't show.
