This was a test for a (dead) project. It was about illustrating the sound of an F1 engine.
Pointcloud is reading the wav and particles are accelerating according to the intensity.
It uses SoundToCurve (Guy Rabiller) and WaveToSpectrums (Claude Vervoort)
Smoke is Furry.

No rocket science. You'll need to pick to some wav files in the tree and in the mixer.
SoundToCurve & Wave2Spectrum can be found at rray.de/xsi/
(Wave2Spectrum can be touchy regarding wav files. Converting them with quicktime or Itunes seems to work)
