The Canada Effect: Health Care British Columbia Interviews
2 years ago
I am not a film maker! So cut me some slack on the myriad of editing/audio flaws. It is not art, it is merely information: please use it! If you or anyone you know is "afraid of becoming like Canada" (or if you are passionate about health care reform) - please watch this video and spread it! When I left for Vancouver, I expected to present a balanced series of interviews, with positive and negative. I anticipated, given all the rhetoric we hear in the U.S. about the horrors of the Canadian system, that a good 30% of the population would shout warnings against a Universal Health Care system. This is not what I found. Well over 200 interviews later, I have whittled down 6+ hours of footage and compiled a very brief (and I believe - accurate) summary of ALL the opinions expressed to me by the randomly discovered participants.
Kind of shockingly exhibits the extreme and intentional lies of the opposition.

next time i would recommend either using a lav mic pinned to their clothing or putting the shot gun mic on a boom pole just b/c having them hold the shot gun mic is a little distracting to watch : )
