4 sep 2013 -- refugees of the refugees action group recht op bestaan from den haag joined the refugees of the action group we are here from amsterdam to commemorate one year of refugee activism in amsterdam. started by a few activists on september 4 2012 at the garden of the diaconie in amsterdam and grew large as a refugee camp kamp osdorp with over 100 refugees. when they were forced to leave the tent camp they took an empty building de vluchtkerk from where they started dozens of protest actions in amsterdam and other places to fight for basic human rights and to show dutch society how bad the situation is for people without papers.
september 4 2013 refugees and supporters took al long walk in amsterdam to go back to the place where it all started one year ago. unfortunately not many refugees showed up because of divisiones between them. many of them have conflicts with each other. if the refugees of recht op bestaan from den haag had not participated in the protest march it would have been a tiny commemoration.
