This was great. Aside from the 3D elements at 2:36, The rest was soley animated in After Effects? I would assume so, according to your tags. Thats an insane amount of keyframing. Do you have a specific workflow that makes all that animation manageable, or is it as tedious as it looks?
  • Emilia 17 days ago
Hello Gohma, yes the rest are 2D Objects and most of them animated in After Effects. But some 2D Objects I also animated in Cinema4D. Good tools for the animation were also Trapcode Echospace and Mograph. A lot of basic movements I could also loop. So maybe not as many keyframes as you might think? But can´t deny that it was a lot of work ;) Thanks for the comment!
  • Gohma 17 days ago
In any case, it looks great. I've very briefly sat down with Cinema4D. Its something I'm definitely interested in but all comes off as a little overwhelming at first. Did you by chance happen to learn C4D on your own accord? If so, would it be too much trouble if I asked about some of the learning sources that you used?

I'm a scuba diver, so a many of these forms and movements are familiar. 'Yonder' takes that bioform language to the next level and earns a spot on my short list of exquisite, immersive videos. Bravo, Emilia!

Thank you for your nice comment! Glad you found the film immersive! That's what I tried to achieve! Thanks Stephen!

Incredibly inspiring. I also really like your TV idents for a fictitious station that "has time". Your new piece really shows the possibilities of using the computer to create atmospheres no one has ever seen. I feel I've seen with acute clarity someone else's dream. Please check out my last music video even though it's a very different kettle of fish vimeo.com/7534323 thanks!
