And you thought the only thing you had to worry about with candy corn was cavities.

    these fx look great!
u used cinema 4D for the monster?
  • EJ Hassenfratz 26 days ago
thanks man, appreciate it! and yes, used some C4D and cloner object action, which I had a pain in the ass with, but got a work around.
i hear C4D11 has resolved the issue with a high number of cloner object crashes

Sweet, I'll never look at candy corn the same way...

    Nice job!

Great stuff. Some atmosphere would go a long way to make it a bit spookier.
  • EJ Hassenfratz 25 days ago
    Atmosphere added.

Thanks for the critique and suggestion, nick!

Very nice sound design. It really gets me all tensed up just hearing to it.

Gaahhh! Get that thing away from me!

That monster is Karazay!!! Question: Are you using the P Blurp node thing? (Forgive my ignorance) Really great work!
  • EJ Hassenfratz 22 days ago
    thanks man!

and no, this is not P Blurp, in fact, I have really no clue how to do much expresso stuff, maybe that'll be something I could figure out and do a tutorial for.

but for this, I used a combination of animated spheres with Metaball applied, and then used Cloner Object and used the Metaball as the object and that applied the candy corn clones to the surface vertexes of the Metaball blob monster.

    Hey EJ

Thanks for the insight. Leave it to us C4d nerds to take all the fun out of something that just plain looks wicked! ;)
    Cheers!

haha, i can get nerdy but just not where there is experessions or nodal connection mess!

if you have any examples of where to do the P Blurp thing, send it my way, i'd love to learn up on it.

(P Blurp sounds like something that happens after you eat too much Mexican food..)

3d Kiwi does a P Blurp tut on C4D Cafe. I tried messing with it but couldn't get it to do cool stuff like what you got. Now I know why!

Sweet! I'm all about antagonizing the camera. Going to have to get more violent with it myself after seeing this.
  • EJ Hassenfratz 22 days ago
    do it up! :)

loved your entry too man, very cool use of the puppet tool and textures (i need to utilize the puppet tool in a submission soon)! and anything that's a throwback to monty python is cool in my book!
