Thank you F. Weather was great, so the wind played with me.

That Letus Extreme is a great DOF adapter. I use a Redrock M2, but my next one's certainly gonna be a Letus. How do you like the Nikon lens with it?

First of all I'm very happy with my Letus, it works great, but I'm not very happy about my decision to use Nikon lenses. Not because of it's quality, I think there are no big differences between Nikon and Canon. I'm used to focus with Zeiss lenses and with Nikon lenses you have to focus into the other direction. And that's very hard to learn.

I use Nikon lenses with my adapter, and my main complaint is that I think the image is softer than with Zeiss or Canon lenses. I love the DOF, but I like for the objects in focus to be in really sharp focus.

Hi Nathan, that seems to be right, but if you see the images from Phillip Bloom, who also uses Nikon lenses with his adapter you can't believe it's Nikon.

    See this for example:

You learn something new every day. I've actually seen every one of Philip Bloom's films on Vimeo, and yet I never once thought to check what lenses he uses (thanks for pointing that out). I'll have to try those Nikon Zeiss lenses he recommends.

Your stuff is magnificent - so well shot. How did you keep your frame so still? This is something I am struggling with with the weighty HVX and SGPRO adapter doing hand held filming. Are you using a tripod or shoulder mount or just doing hand held? Also are you using an HVX200E or HVX200EA? I have the earlier HVX (not the A model) and your images seem much less noisy. Well done again. I'm very impressed.

Hi Fleming, thanks for the compliment. When I shot that video, I haven't had a shoulder mount, but now I have. You can see it here: bewegtbildarbeiter.blogspot.com/2008/09/letus-ultimate-er-ist-da.html

Yes, all shots are made freely handheld. The slowmotion helps very much that the image does not move to much. The video was shot on a HVX200. To drop down the noise, I make the image more contrasty and lower the dark parts in the colour correction.

Very goos videoI have Letus Elite and HVX20 A bought ust few days back.I loved the slow motion....can you please help me with how to get those cool slow motion shots?
  • Bewegtbildarbeiter 3 months ago
Hi, thanks first. Don't know really what to answer, I shot the whole video on 50 frames per second and used a shutter time of 1/50 second. Afterwards I edited in Premiere CS3 and used a frame rate of 25 fps. That's all. With your american HVX you can even shoot on 60fps and use a shutter of 1/60. Use a frame rate of 29,97fps then and have fun :o)
