This is my Showreel as director of photography. It's partly shot on different video formats and on 16mm Kodak film stock.

The music is made by the band "the year of" from Vienna.

Thanks. Lots of good stuff. I've favourited it so that I can take a really close look when I've got time.
    It's a shame it's not HD.

I'm sorry, most of the images are out of Pre-HD-times. In half a year there will be a new Showreel. Thanks Richard.

Thank you F. a question; where does F stand for?
  • Do you mean "what does it means?", well it's the initial of my name Francisco. I put it like a signature, I dunno. Why?
  • Bewegtbildarbeiter 2 years ago
Yes, I meant "what does it mean?". It's a cool, but people will ask you "why F?"
  • hahaha... yeah? You think so? I don't know, I didn't wornder my self why "Bewegtbildarbeiter", for example, but, if you say so... you might be right.
So lets release the intrigue to the world then! =oP

Thanks a lot. It's such a difference if you study or in the free world of work. During my studies I had so many opportunities (to use different film stocks and much light for example). Now I have to earn enough money as a freelancer for paying home, food and so on. I haven't enough contacts for such exciting projects. Hope that will change soon.

Hej, you have shot "Verwehte"? That was the best short film at the Filmfestival Münster -- in my opinion.

Seems like the Filmakademie Wien teaches filmmaking very well, unlike other filmschools (like the german ifs, dffb or even hff muc). I try to go there for a semester abroad this fall...

    Hi Filmblut,
    thanks for the flowers.

Yes, I made the images for "Verwehte", where do you know from?

Verwehte was a cooperation with the HFF Potsdam and I think they also have good teachers and at the end much more money. Here in Vienna, you have to fight for financing every single short. The stuff you learn is only a kind of basic knowledge I think, the rest of it you learn by helping students in higher levels or outside the academy in the filmproduction companies.

There were some snippets of that brilliant short flick in your showreel. The scene at the beach is just perfect. I saw it at the Filmfestival Münster...along with a lot of crap and very few good works.

"Here in Vienna, you have to fight for financing every single short."

That's not only a vienna-issue. By the experiences of some mates who already did a short film I try to lower the costs of my first short to a minimum but try to make an application for more money as needed from film fundings. We will see...
