On November 1, 2009, the Charlottesville Municipal Band invited friends and supporters to an Open House to celebrate the "burning of the mortgage" of the Municipal Arts Center. Many years in the making, the Arts Center now provides a permanent home for the band and rehearsal space for other local arts organizations.
