Taking on TIFF: King & Fox Live Fashion
Models: Richa Kauv, Kerra Denel, and K&F’s own Alison Michelle

King & Fox, a prominent Toronto-based styling firm founded by Alison Kaizer, had a highly anticipated live installation photo shoot at TIFF this season. On September 6th 2013, they shot at the after party for the film Palo Alto written by James Franco. The event took place at SET (Studio Event Theatre) on King St. West.

King & Fox called upon the renowned Valter Mendes to photograph the models in an unprecedented stage performance.

The event was a huge success; the beautiful models, enviable fashion and creative hair and makeup team intrigued the partygoers. Accessing the inner workings of a fashion photo shoot is a rarity, so having King & Fox perform the process from start to finish was a unique experience for TIFF attendees.

King & Fox was the buzz of the evening, and at the end of the night, we even let them participate, giving them the opportunity to take some photos and receive makeup adjustments “just like real models”.

King & Fox Fashion Director Julie Jenkinson, who styled with the assistance of Karen Estrada, conceptualized the idea for the live show.

From fashion to hair to makeup and even accessories, the team ensured autumn was the primary theme of the evening’s showcase.

With fall fashion generally comes earthy and warm tones; it is time to restrain from the bright colors and maxi skirts of summer. In true King & Fox fashion, the trendsetting team decided that elements of florals mixed with pastels would be the overarching theme for the autumn shoot. We pulled four eccentric looks and incorporated white, another element which is generally considered a faux pas after Labor Day.

King & Fox is ready to tiptoe into the cooler months!
