The finger goes onto the slot on the carriage. The carriage can be easily moved around using the same hand. As the carriage moves, a potentiometer tracks the movement of the carriage and sends the location to a microcontroller. The microcontroller then sends the information to the computer and the computer gives the necessary digital output to activate the tactile feedback actuator. The actuator then moves 6 dots up and down depending on the letter/number/punctuation. So eventually, the English text is getting converted to braille on the computer using a LabView program and is then being converted to give tactile feedback.
