In 2011 four artists were commissioned to make personal creative responses to the construction of the new library of Birmingham and to the old Central library as it passed out of use.
Brian Griffin was commissioned to photograph the gamut of workers who contributed to the new library: builders, funders, managers, planners, architects, apprentices, scaffolders, conservators and politicians.
The filming was made possible by Pete James, Curator of Photography.
