This was filmed on April 1st, 2009, to see how three California artists - Rodger Casier, Trinaty Wakefield and Lesley Grogan - liked to be filmed talking about art and psychiatric recovery, and how Justin Rowe the film-maker and I would work as a team with the three artists. The session flowed really well, the energy was excellent, and we decided to move forward with getting funding for, and filming the documentary. When the film premiered at the Santa Barbara Film Festival in 2010, it garnered a lot of attention, winning an Audience Choice Award. The film has since been screened at the national conference of the American Art Therapy Association, and at the California conference of the National Association of Social Workers. It is available on Amazon. The website for the film is crazyartonline.com For anyone interested in the role creativity plays in coping with psychiatric symptoms and mental illness, the film offers a rare glimpse into the experiences of three individuals who know this topic intimately. The documentary also looks at van Gogh's art in the context of the lives of the three California artists who are profiled in this film. J. T. Turner, Producer
