Fifteen art works containing text were installed throughout Girvan town for 28 days with an accompanying map. Ranging from subtle interventions such as newspaper headline boards, park flowerbed signs and the replacement of the Marine Cafe’s ceramic mugs to bold street signs and a new town flag.
A collaboration between visual artists Pam van de Brug, Rachel O'Neill and 15 people, over 60 years of age, living in Girvan. The making and installation of OPA involved the further involvement of many people in the community.
This short film which captured the installation was made by Johnnie O’Byrne and exhibited at The McKechnie Institute and Maclaurin Galleries.
