Designers Daisy Ginsberg and James King embedded themselves in the 2009 Cambridge iGEM team and participated in an extended dialogue with them about the science of art and the art of science in the context of their iGEM project.
This culminated in an exploration of the significance of bacteria that produce color - the laws, services, and products that they might enable - over the next 100 years. Daisy and James shared a presentation of this future history and let me open their mysterious E.chromi briefcase.
