Traveling to the Kathleen Elsey painting workshop in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio last month, I was limited on space and weight in my suitcase, so in addition to a few stretched canvases, I took a pad of 16 x 20 canvas sheets, enough loose sheets for ten paintings. In the workshop we painted the Cuyahoga River with the old powerhouse and waterfalls. Some of the students painted plein air while others painted from the photos I provided. My demonstration painting for the river painting was on a sheet of canvas from the pad. My students wanted to know how I would laminate those canvas sheets to hardboard in order to frame them. This video shows you step by step how to do that. Kathleen Elsey painting workshops are available in Santa Barbara and Sonoma, California, Taos, New Mexico, and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
