Rapha inspired, definitely, I was channeling Dave while I shot.

Thanks for all the links from Velogogo lately.

So jealous of that journey. Awesome imagery Michael. Nicely cut together by Mr Christenson too; very Rapha indeed...

Interested: what lens did you find yourself reaching for most often when shooting video on the 5DmkII?
  • velodramatic plus 3 months ago
    Thanks Ben.

The shorter and wider lenses were definitely easier to work with and more forgiving if I was hand holding with the Zacuto. On the tripod I felt like I could use anything, including my 200 f2. I wish I'd had a 35mm prime. I should have tried my 20-35 at the narrow end to simulate.

great job. were you a photographer first? a lot of your shots are fantastic. you could pause it ant any moment and have a great still image.

i bought a nikon d700 for us a while back so we could all learn what photographers know, how to make single moment visually epic.

great work. did you shoot this on a 5dmarkII? the things dslr cameras can offer now ... amazing.

thanks. Yes a lifelong stills photographer, and this is the first effort with the 5D MKII.

  • This is great!!!

Janeen McCrae sent me your blog post: velodramatic.com/archives/3825 + this video after seeing my first attempt shooting video with my new 7D.

Thanks for all the tips. And kudos for shooting such a wonderful video!

glad it was of some help. I'll have to read it again myself, since I've not shot anything else since it was completed ;-)
