This is a story concerning the radar systems that were installed across Alaska and Canada during the “Cold War” in 1955. The radar stations closest to the Artic Circle were called the DEW Line (the Distant Early Warning system). The creator of this story is Herbert Buss, who was a crew member on the Victory ship “Pendleton,” which was one of the ships carrying equipment to Alaska.
