This is vid from a spring time packrafting trip in the Scottish Highlands during April 2013. Much of the paddling, on coastal waters, was called off because of high winds. And in the end the raft was being packed a lot more than the pack was being rafted.
The weather, at times, was truly awful. This kept me off the summits, and caused difficulties in corssing some of the watercourses that were in my way. But there were also some great moments, some flashes of sunshine and, in the end, even being out in north of Scotland in howling weather is far preferable to not being out there at all.
There is usually a fair amount of planning that goes into a trip. But in the end, there is more pot luck.
