I have a beef with this song. I hadn't listened to it in ages, so I thought I'd give it a shot and create a video for the Keane H&F video competition. Looking back on the past few weeks I can safely say that I've completely ruined any chance of enjoying this song ever again. Probably.

'Multiply the messenger' is basically what this video is about. And it shows those bits that you'd usually never see, well, only in the gag-reel I suppose. The muck-ups, the struggle and the jokes behind the scenes.
I started off from a totally different idea though. I wanted to bridge a gap between the original live visual and my video. There still is a slight reference to the visual. But I ended up taking the Strangers path and go a little Dogme 95 instead.

I like this video! One of the best i've seen in the competition, and definitely the most professionally shot. Well done! I also entered the competition with this song but.... nothing! Not even a runner up ha ha ha!

Hey David, thanks! I saw your vid, and it's most definitely pro in every possible way. I'm insanely jealous, I WISH I had such gear. :D
I think what we've both been struggling with is an idea, ya know. ;) It's clear that Tom has been looking for a new interpretation to the song, as he knows the song all too well and probably is a little fed up with its message as it's old news. ;)

Yeah possibly... Although i think the winning video is still the same kind of theme. Would have liked to have been a little more abstract but it's hard to do on your own. None of my friends were available to help on any of the few days off i had. Oh well! Thanks though :o)

Oh, I KNOW about that! It's been amazing, yet very time-consuming and a logistical nightmare to create a video with about a dozen people in it. It took me 2 to 3 weeks of filming and rushed editing in the end! I'd do it again in a flash though. It was a great way to learn how to get a project like this on wheels and everyone involved was so lovely and helpful. :D
