It should have been no surprise when Israel fell to Assyria. The warnings, as well as the calls to repentance, were there. But the people didn't listen. Isaiah had the message for people of Judah, the Southern Kingdom, to return to God, but they refused. Their demise was certain as well, if they didn't repent. God promised, though, that judgment and exile weren't the end. There was a promise of a worthy king, a Messiah. That king would be Jesus. The message was clear: there should be "No King but King Jesus!"
