Filmado en el 2006, llevó 6 meses de trabajo (repartidos a lo largo de 2 años...) hacer las casi 90 tomas que aparecen en el corto.

3dMax, FumeFx, Glu3d, AfterEffects, Photoshop y Premiere.

Se gastaron unos U$s300 en extras.

would you mind sharing what camera you used?

and maybe how you made your video look so good on youtube? Export settings?

Yep... jaw-dropping awesome. If you really did all of that in just 6 months of work (over 2 years) and at a cost of only $300USD, then you are truly one of the most-talented creative teams in the world right now. Go make a full movie, I'm ready to buy a ticket!!!

    $300? only?
please, could you tell me where did you buy all the software and hardware to do the movie?
because only 3ds max costs $4K. did you used only one eeepc for all the job?

you could write that you paid only $300 to do the movie but the real cost was at least $20K!

p.s. i really enjoy the movie, the vfx and the mood!

Good short. But, $300... Hmmmm.... I'm a filmmaker, film, not DV. I know what it takes to make a "no budget" short and feature film. It's not cheap. DV can cost a little as well...

if you already own all the items talked about the "out of pocket" expenses to make this particular film could and did cost $300. (if he truly did only spend $300 which is realistic). With your reasoning you would also have to say his "time" cost money as well. This filmmaker has an FX company that im sure he bills himself out more than $ZERO per hour. He made this movie with items he already had and it cost him $300 to make this.

"Could and did cost $300.?" Have you seen the budget...? Anyway, time does cost... Plus, if you walk into your own company and turn on the lights, computers, etc., in order to work on your own projects, that costs as well. Like I said good short, but hmmmmm... $300? I have to mention that I have seen nothing about his $30 million deal posted on The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, or Ghost House Pictures. Just a yahoo blurb... Fun stuff none-the-less!

I couldnt disagree with your opinions more.
You're not going to justify the cost of electricity in your budget? I did see a lengthy post of this directors online stating how he did it. He had 50 or so friends and family be extras and paid them $5. the rest I believe was food.
Im finishing up a short film I did for $300 as well.
I got the lighting and crew for free. Does that make my movie not cost me $300 either?
I spent my money on a very good lunch for the crew..a decent dinner.. and great craft service.
Only thing I spent money on for the actual film was a priest shirt and a rosary.

Disagree all you want. That's fine. I saw what he said about what he spent as well; whatever. I'm not saying it isn't possible to make a dv short, dv movie, or dv and hd whatever for less than $300. I'm saying I question what it cost to make his dv short. And yeah, I watched your short, sure I can buy what you spent or didn't spend because you are not blowing up the world in your movie, useing various digital effects and such. You're comparing your movie to his, and there is no comparision. That's like comparing apple to oranges, to use a phrase. I have made video shorts under $300 as well; I deserve no pat on the back for such accomplishments, nor does anyone else. I dug the movie, I wished him well, but I'm a bit skepitcal on the price. I understand, I've been called a lair right to my face when I told people the budget of my feature film. Film mind you, not dv. And I threw in the cost of everything, because I know of many people who tell short of their budget in order to make it look as though they are a more effecient movie maker. This has been fun, but I'm way over it. Like I said, I look foward to seeing your finished product. See you around vimeo!
