15. Abandoned City Part 2 HD
This is Part 2 of a short documentary capturing a group photo-blog shoot with a concept of Urban Decay. The location is an abandoned Post Office in Gary, Indiana. We drove down from Chicago very early on a Sunday morning to be safe since the area is shady.

I used a Canon HV20 (24p) with Crystal Vision wide lens, Calico Cam stabilizer, and a Manfrotto fluid head on a tripod. None of this video was directed, just capturing the day of events.

The audio track is Take Me Into Your Skin by TrentMoller.

great video mark.i like where you're going along the corridor with that peeling paint on the walls, scary, video gamelike feel to it.love the steadycam,i'd like to try one.
watching all this stuff on vimeo makes me think of what they say about when investing in property:location, location, location.the same applies to video.
    thanks for posting

Well, is the HV20 better than the HG10 . . . I think that's the million dollar question you're on the verge of unveiling an answer to, Mark.
    And on a side note: I think great footage like this should be boycotted for its greatness . . . because it's too . . . . great . . .

Great location for a photo shoot. PS: The musicians name is Anders Trentemøller - and a great one he is :) Fits perfectly with the location...

Mark I'm very interested to see / hear more of your experience with the Calicocam. Last I read from the HV20 forum was that the gimbal on the Calico does not work as smooth as the Merlin. But I can't see no twitches from your footage to say I support that notion. I do however see the camera swaying from horizontal pans. Guess it takes practise. For the price difference I'm game to give the Calicocam a try. Was it easy setting it up? I heard there is no manual or instructions how to fine tune it.

Great choice of audio along with the amazing location. I'm a fan of Trentem%uFFFDller myself. :o) BTW I've tagged your vid for other calicocam seekers. Hope its ok.
