My film depicts an analysis of the genre and concept of portraiture through the influences of technology and the changing perception of art techniques and mediums. This film also challenges the idea of what is art and what constitutes an artwork, being a kinetic, 3 dimensional portrait. The almost elastic, perpetual shift away from centre is used to show the idea of the constant moment and changing of artists and the art world from what we know and accept as art. The dark and light portrayals of the subject also show the two opposite personalities, which we hold simultaneously. My work also offers a close analysis of pose and the female body in an intimate yet voyeuristic form. This film drawing from and referencing the work of Shaun Gladwell, Sam Taylor Wood, Bill Viola, David Rosetzky, Daniel Crooks and Mike Parr.
