"A Day in the Life of a Mother" (aka "Mothering 1977") was my Super 8 film project from my 1977 Spring semester Film Studies class during my freshman year at Torrey Pines High School in Del Mar, California, when I was 14 years old. A wry commentary on the expectations vs. realities placed on mothers in the mid-1970s, the 15-minute film starred my mother, Marilu Norden (marilunorden.com), giving a memorable Lucille Ball-esque performance in the role of "The Mother" (and "The Maid"—the Mother's "Id" [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Id,_ego_and_super-ego#Id]). My younger brother Kimbro played "The Son" and my father Tom Norden played "The Father." Produced, written, directed, filmed, edited and narrated by me (before my voice changed), along with a score featuring original music that I wrote and performed specifically for the movie. The original Super 8 silent film was digitized and custom color-corrected by imemories.com/ in Scottsdale, Arizona, on July 1, 2013. The soundtrack was digitally remastered from the original cassette tape by Jim Sherry of Speak House Audio in Phoenix, Arizona (speakhouseaudio.com/), on September 26, 2013.
