Hghlighting the build quality, sound, performance, design and feel of Denon's new controller in a gritty urban environment. We location scouted an East London warehouse and the employed services of talented London graffiti artist Busk to create Japanese themed artwork around the set. As the location was set in East London, we felt the current explosion of UK bass music very relevant so we worked closely with DJ cable to explore the different features of the controller.
DJ Cable's explains his custom performance set "It's very much a live club set, which incorporates lots of live remix elements. The routine starts with a mixtape-style intro over the (now-classic) Grime instrumental Wooo Riddim. The composition is built up using a series of custom loops and one shots alongside my refix of Roska's Jackpot where I utilise Traktors various effects. The baseline from Redights - Stupid is triggered and I manipulate using the filters LFO. Main features covered are multi deck mixing, cue point juggling, group effects and controlling 4 decks from the mixer."
