again, but this time without such a deliberate intent on a nostalgic take, but life brought it so.
a contemplative look back on the budapest amusement park, "Vidámpark", that finally drew curtains after a little less than a hundred years of operation including the world famous 1922-built rollercoaster.
so I took a last ride to take it all home.
but it just so turns, that vidámpark, was also the name for an alternative rock band of the 90's hungary, whose emblematic singer and music journalist Zsolt Őz passed away today - just a day after the real Vidámpark closed its doors.
little did I know that this etude of a personal farewell about the jobless rollercoaster drivers plunging into the void would also echo a double memorial now. a massive shutdown, heading for days that "never felt so cold" - as robert smith puts it in this title song I thought about when shooting this.
soundtrack: the cure - the last day of summer (bloodflowers, 2000, fiction records)
concept, editing, cinematography: liftman productions
