In 2012, Vallejo, California became the first city in the U.S. to approve participatory budgeting (PB) citywide. Over the course of the budget year, more than 4000 residents and stakeholders helped decide how to spend over $3 million in tax revenue. This short video, produced by Jake Nicol, recaps Vallejo's first year of PB.
