1. Toronto drive time-lapse
A time-lapse drive around Toronto on a November evening.
I mounted my rebel XT out the sunroof of my buddies car (thanks Kenny) and took a snap shot every second.

What kind of Mount set-up did you use?

I placed tripod through the sunroof with 1 leg behind each seat and 1 in the coin tray. I then tied a rope around the tripod and pull in back towards the back seats so it would be really steady. I used a Canon 10-22mm on my Rebel XT on Manual / 400 ISO / 1 second exposures every 1 second. I used Quicktime pro to make the actual time-lapse with the jpegs, and Adobe premier to add music/slow the speed down.

I'm wondering if you can post a map or at least tell me where you started out/finished...I'm trying like hell to figure out where you went, I saw traces of King & Queen St. at certain points, it looks like you stayed west of Spadina for the whole trip, but can't be sure, it was all literally a blur! Very well done though :)

dude it rocks! [it's me again from reddit haha]
congratulations ^__^ just one question; what's the f/ stop that you used? Because I'd like to use a wider aperture to reduce the ISO, 400 for me means lots of noise with my camera =[
  • Adam @ Unit3 2 years ago
Thanks! I used F4 which was the lowest I could get with my lens. Thats too bad that your 400 ISO has noise. My 800 is pretty bad too so I never get to use it.

This is great. The exposure and shutter speed are perfect for the speed you have the video. The music was a great choice as well kept my interest enough to keep me smiling throughout the whole video. Nice work!

My favorite part was seeing the people board and exit the tram. Did you plan that?
  • Adam @ Unit3 2 years ago
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I didn't really plan it, but once we saw the street car we thought it would make a pretty cool shot.
