a solo by RAFAEL ALVAREZ
About camouflage, power, domination, fear, normativity and masculinity.
One of the recurrent aspects of Alvarez’s work is the use and research of visual elements, objects and a strong imagery dimension in his choreographic language, alongside with an investment in solo format.
Using and researching on the use of military icons and camouflage textures, as visual and conceptual elements, FATIGUES is a solo by Rafael Alvarez, in which the choreographer desconstructs concepts such as power, domination, control or surveillance, which are usually associated with the idea of masculinity and military universe.
