With just a few weeks to go until the 19th annual Empty Bowl Benefit Dinner, organized every year at Arcadia University to help fight hunger and homelessness, students in Dr. Peter Appelbaum's University Seminar "Everything & Nothing: Visualizing Mathematics, Philosophy & Culture" painted and glazed handmade bowls for the event.
As they diligently worked, Appelbaum connected the course topic and the service project, explaining that an empty bowl can symbolize "everything and nothing."
