Shaykh Fakhruddīn bin Aḥmad Owaisī (South Africa) offers a line-by-line explanation of the most celebrated poem in modern history, the Poem of the Mantle (al-Qaṣīda al-burda), penned by the renowned Islamic scholar and epistemic, Imām Muḥammad bin Saʿīd al-Būṣīrī, may God have mercy on him, in praise of the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ.
This lecture was given on the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, USA in December 2009, presented by the Institute for the Study of Islamic Thought in Africa (ISITA). Aside from a beautiful nationwide turnout for this two-part event, many tuned in internationally via the web streaming service USTREAM® from such countries as Brazil, Mexico, France, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, and Kenya.
