The Zephyrhills Trikers attended the Flying Gator Fly-in, in Florida. We had a 15-17 mph headwind flying north. As usual Wes/Marsha and Larry did not wait for me and Doug but we are use to that by now..:>) Lucky for us the GPS master (Wes) programmed the coordinates in our Enigma's, otherwise Doug and Me would have ended up in Georgia. We had quite a time finding the airfield from 3000 ft. I only saw the Trikes on the ground when I saw butterflies on the ground realizing they were trikes. Only after coming down we could figure out there was also a runway. Wes heard me on the radio but couldn't see us since we came from behind..haha He was looking in the direction he expected us to come from but since we had to circle to find the runway we approached from the north instead of the south. There were many ultralights, trikes and fixed wings as well as a few GA planes. Target bombing and spot landings took place but we took off before Larry could do the spot landing, he was afraid he might miss the runway...hehe We departed at 12 PM and had quite some turbulence while flying at 2500 ft, after getting fed up with that we explored higher and at 3500 the air became smooth and we deadheaded back to Z’hills. With a somewhat tail wind we were back in 30 min. Well, this was another great flight and we are looking forward to the get together at Zephyrhills this weekend (Nov 21-22)
